Thing Called Love

How can one describe,
what one can not see with ones own eyes?

What one can not touch or hold,
but is far more precious than gold.

That is fragile beyond compare,
yet lasts through all things unfair.

Love is its name,
for peace and war it’s to blame.

For joy and sorrow,
for pain slicing to the marrow.

Yet we all wish for it deep inside,
where from the truth we can not hide.

The risks are great and fear abounds,
stalking us all like hounds.

What fate is for two like us I wonder,
as love beckons us like thunder?

What is this thing called love,
that takes hold of even the wise.

Lonely

Days are long, faces drawn,
In frowns of sorrow.

Nights are cold, the memories old,
Of happier a tomorrow.

Alone I sit, and must admit,
I long for days of joy.

Is there someone, he and I one,
Whose company I can enjoy?

As I sit here, I can feel a tear,
A tear from a lonely heart.

I Stand Alone

I stand alone, against the darkness
I stand alone, against the weakness

I stand alone, against the fears
I stand alone, against the tears

I stand alone, trying not to fail
I stand alone, trying not to bail

I stand alone, my dreams foregone
I stand alone, I am withdrawn

I stand alone, bitter and cold
I stand alone, tired and old

I stand alone, inside this prison
I stand alone, what has arisen?

I stand alone, watching the light
I stand alone, aware of my plight

I stand alone, as the light nears me
I stand alone, amazed at what I see

I stand alone, as the figure draws nearer
I stand alone, the figure becomes clearer

I stand alone, watching and waiting
I stand alone, my fear abating

I stand alone, in ardor
I stand alone no more

.........
In The Night

Leaves of bronze and gold,
whisper of stories untold.

Of lovers beneath the silvery moon,
who wait to see each other soon.

Of words in the velvety embrace of night,
as they hold each other tight.

The shadows protecting them from unwanted eyes,
until they kiss goodbye.

The sun’s rays peering over the trees,
to the sounds of birds and bees.

The night is over once again,
for a new day is at hand.

A Song

A song of love, a song of fear.
A song only the heart will hear.
A song of hope, a song of pain.
A song, predictable and plain.
A song of loss, a song of trust.
A song that will not turn to dust.
A song for me, a song for you.
A song I sing to thee so true.

Love

In love I think I’m falling,
for one name my heart is calling.

Can this be true?
It is so new.

Yet feels so right to me,
I wonder how this can be.

Few days have past,
but we’ve made them last.

It feels much longer,
and we’ve grown all the closer.

To something I just can’t hide,
a feeling with no disguise.

I hope he feels the same,
for this fire I can not tame.

As it engulfs the whole of me,
I try to see.

Just what might be,
in store for him and me.
